1. What is ST24 White Rice?

ST24 rice or Soc Trang 24 rice, comes from a fragrant rice variety in Soc Trang. In 2008, engineer Ho Quang Cua researched and crossbred by it. Then, it became famous in 2016. This rice is a good adaptation to changing weather conditions. Therefore, farmers can grow it in alum and saline soils in the Southeast region, ensuring stable yields.

ST24 rice was ranked among the top three best rice varieties in the world at the 9th International Conference in November 2017. This kind of rice has long, clear white grains and is sticky. • ST25 rice grains are quite long, about 9mm, flat, clear white, not silvery and broken.

2. Flavor of rice

• When cooked, ST24 rice offers the aroma of pandan leaves. It gives a natural sweetness, still soft and sticky even when cold, not hard or grainy.
• ST25 rice absorbs little water, does not swell when cooked. The grains are evenly fluffy, soft and very sticky. Even when cooled, they do not dry out. 

They both exude the natural aroma of pandan leaves mixed with the characteristic scent of young rice.

3. Nutritional content

• ST24 rice has a high nutritional value such as glucid, protein and other minerals. In addition, it has a protein content of up to 10% (higher than regular rice). Therefore, it helps to create a feeling of fullness, quite suitable for people with diabetes.
