About rice growing seasons, Vietnam has two main rice crops. Each lasts for 3 months.

• Winter-Spring rice crop: From February to May.

When cooked, the grains are thin, slightly sticky, and have a faintly sweet taste. It is a popular choice for restaurants and home cooks due to its nutritional value and fragrant nature. 

Japonica: This is a type of short-grain rice that comes from Japan. The rice grains are naturally shiny, round, and plump. It smells mildly sweet, is soft and sticky, and has a slightly sweet taste when cooked. These exceptional qualities make Japonica rice a popular ingredient in many traditional Japanese dishes, including sushi, rice rolls, rice balls, and more. 

OM 5451: It is a purebred rice variety because it is often sold at a good price. 5451 rice has long, thin, slightly milky rice grains. When cooked, the rice is soft, sticky, lightly fragrant, and does not become hard even when cooled. Also, it offers moderately sticky, and people can use it for industrial kitchens.
