Vietnamese cassia/cinnamon is among the world’s most traded spices, exported to nearly 100 countries and widely used in food, aromatherapy, and pharmaceutical applications. Yen Bai—especially Van Yen—is considered the heartland of premium cassia, thanks to its ideal mountainous climate and long-standing farming traditions.
High-quality Vietnamese cassia is typically harvested twice a year, then carefully processed through peeling, shade-drying and sun-drying, grading by thickness and essential oil content, and finally cutting, grinding, and moisture-proof packing. Known for its thick bark, deep ridges, dark reddish-brown color, and strong warm aroma with sweet-spicy notes (often reminiscent of clove and nutmeg), Yen Bai cassia is favored by global buyers for its consistent quality and high oil content.
Common export forms include whole tube, split, stick, cigarette, broken, and powder, allowing importers and manufacturers to choose the best format for oils, spice blends, cooking, or baking.
